Assistant Teacher
About the role
Assistant Teacher
Employment Status: Opportunity for Causal or Part-time.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with in-class teaching duties under the direction of a Teacher.
- Assist facilitate and support small groups as directed by a Teacher.
- Assist to keep records of support strategies and curriculum adjustments for student's Individual Learning Plan.
- Assist and provide administrative support for Teachers when necessary.
- Assist on playground supervision, as well as accompanying students on excursions as required.
- Always follow the school’s child safety policies and procedures to ensure the welfare and wellbeing of students.
- Attend professional development and training as required by the school.
- Be actively involved in the life of the school during internal and external events where possible.
About You
- Able to successfully engage young people in relevant and dynamic learning.
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Able to develop sound working relationships at all levels.
- Able to work as a team as well as autonomously.
Mandatory Requirements
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate education course.
- Working with Children's Check.
- No adverse findings resulting from criminal history checks.
- (i.e. AFP National Police Check for working with children or no unsuitable findings by the Department National Investigations Unit).
